The perfect first blog entry.....Les Etages bar.  It’s in the Marais in the 4th on 35 Rue Vielle du Temple. It’s divine! It’s what you imagine — peeling red walls, little velvet chairs. They specialize in champagne. Vieux Clicquot. Winter time it’s a warm, snug haven to cozy up in. Summer time it’s a cafe spilling out into the streets and people watching. It’s the place to go after a long flight and a good walk around Le Marais. Settle in, have a couple of glasses of champagne and then off to bed. It’s a great date place too. Still waiting. Dark, cozy and champagne! The perfect ingredients for a romantic evening. They have another location for all you lovers of the St. Germain de Pres area. It’s on 5 rue de Buci in the 6th. I haven’t been there but I’m sure it’s just as fabulous in its own way.

Here’s some pics. I was back in Paris (my adopted homeland) for a very special birthday. Friends from LA and Paris came together to throw me a week long fete. The fabulous man in the picture is my lovely and dear friend Carl. Without Melissa and Carl flying into Paris to bring in the new decade (not telling you which one), it would not have been quite the same celebration. That reminds me of another wonderful wine bar to tell you about........
